For participants joining the International Children’s Peace Assembly (ICPA) 2026, taking place in Delhi and Agra from 19–27 December 2026, this nine-day journey will be much more than a visit to another country. It will be an international adventure filled with friendship, leadership, learning, creativity, cultural discovery and lifelong memories.
A Country Filled with Colour, Energy and Wonder
Young people will be fascinated by India’s vibrant sights, sounds, flavours and traditions. Every day offers something new—from colourful clothing and lively music to historic palaces, bustling streets, traditional ceremonies and delicious cuisine.
India has a remarkable way of bringing history and modern life together. In Delhi, young participants will experience the excitement of one of the world’s most dynamic capital cities while discovering monuments, heritage sites and stories that have shaped generations.
A visit to Agra will offer the extraordinary opportunity to stand before the Taj Mahal, one of the world’s most celebrated symbols of love and one of the most magnificent landmarks on Earth.
Seeing these places in person can bring education to life in a way that no classroom or textbook can replicate.
Peace: Discovering Unity Through Diversity
India is home to many cultures, languages, faiths and traditions. This makes it a powerful place for young people to learn about peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and the importance of understanding one another.
Peace is at the heart of the International Children’s Peace Network (ICPN). During ICPA 2026, participants will meet young people from different countries and backgrounds, take part in discussions about peace and diplomacy, and explore how their generation can help create a kinder, fairer and more united world.
Through youth leadership activities, teamwork and the proposed Youth Parliament and Global Diplomacy sessions, they will be encouraged to express their ideas, listen to different viewpoints and find peaceful solutions to shared challenges.
They will discover that our differences do not have to divide us—they can help us learn from one another.
Education: Learning Beyond the Classroom
India provides an extraordinary living classroom.
Young people will learn through experience as they explore the country’s history, heritage, environmental practices and cultural traditions. They will develop communication, presentation, teamwork and leadership skills while working with international participants and local young people.
Participants will also explore the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, working in teams to develop ideas and presentations connected to some of the world’s most important issues.
This form of education is not based only on gaining knowledge. It is designed to develop character, confidence, moral values, responsibility and ethical action.
By the end of the Assembly, young people will not simply know more about the world—they will better understand the contribution they can make to it.
Creativity: A Celebration of Global Talent
India’s deep creative heritage can be seen in its dance, music, cinema, architecture, art, fashion and handicrafts. For creative young people, it is a country overflowing with inspiration.
During ICPA 2026, participants will have opportunities to share their talents through an International Talent Show, art and handicraft exhibitions, cultural presentations and collaborative activities with local schools and buddies.
Whether a young person enjoys singing, dancing, painting, performing, designing, speaking or storytelling, there will be opportunities to participate, gain confidence and celebrate their individuality.
The programme will demonstrate that creativity is not only about entertainment. It can build bridges between cultures, communicate powerful messages and bring people together without the need for a shared language.
Environment: Connecting with Nature and Taking Action
India’s natural landscapes, agricultural traditions and environmental challenges offer young people valuable lessons about the importance of protecting our planet.
Through ICPN’s environmental programme, participants will take part in practical activities such as tree planting, organic farming and environmental awareness projects alongside local young people.
These experiences will help them understand where food comes from, why natural resources must be protected and how individual actions can create meaningful change.
Rather than only discussing sustainability, participants will be encouraged to take positive action and return home motivated to become environmental ambassadors within their schools, families and communities.
Friendships That Cross Borders
One of the greatest reasons young people will love India is the opportunity to experience it with new friends from around the world.
Participants will join international teams, meet local buddies, exchange cultural traditions and work together throughout the programme. Sharing meals, travelling, performing, learning and completing challenges together can quickly transform strangers into friends.
These friendships can break down stereotypes and help young people recognise something important: regardless of nationality, faith, culture or background, they share many of the same hopes, dreams and concerns.
They will arrive representing different countries—but leave feeling part of one global family.
Confidence, Recognition and Lifelong Memories
ICPA 2026 is designed to help every participant feel seen, valued and capable.
Throughout the nine-day programme, young people will be encouraged to try new things, speak in public, contribute ideas, work as part of a team and step outside their comfort zones. Their journey will culminate in a special Graduation, Gala and Awards Ceremony, where their participation, progress and achievements will be recognised.
They will return home with new skills, greater confidence, international friendships and stories they will remember for the rest of their lives.
