Your voice matters—and ICPA will help you use it
What does being a leader really mean?
It is not about being the loudest person in the room or telling everyone what to do. A good leader listens, supports others, shares ideas and has the courage to make a positive difference.
At the International Children’s Peace Assembly (ICPA) 2026, you will meet young people from different countries and discover how you can become a confident, caring global leader.
Find Your Voice
You may have great ideas but sometimes feel nervous about sharing them.
At ICPA, you will have opportunities to:
- Speak during group discussions
- Share your opinions
- Ask questions
- Present ideas with your team
- Perform or display your creativity
- Talk about issues that matter to you
You do not have to be perfect. Every time you try something new, your confidence will grow.
Make Friends Around the World
Imagine having friends from countries you may never have visited!
You will work with international teammates, meet local buddies and learn about different cultures, languages and traditions.
You may discover that although you come from different places, you share many of the same interests, hopes and dreams.
Making friends across cultures will help you become more open-minded, understanding and confident.
Learn to Work as a Team
Great leaders know how to work with others.
During ICPA, you will take part in team activities, challenges and presentations. You will learn how to:
- Listen to different ideas
- Share responsibilities
- Solve problems together
- Encourage someone who feels shy
- Respect other people’s strengths
- Celebrate success as a team
Leadership is not only about standing at the front. It is also about helping others shine.
Become a Young Peace Ambassador
How can we solve disagreements peacefully? How can we create kinder schools and communities?
Through peace and diplomacy activities, you will practise listening, sharing your views respectfully and finding solutions together.
You will learn that peace begins with everyday actions—showing kindness, including others, challenging unfairness and choosing words that bring people together.
Turn Your Ideas into Action
You will explore some of the biggest challenges facing our world, including protecting the environment and building more peaceful communities.
Activities may include:
- Tree planting
- Organic farming
- Environmental projects
- Youth Parliament and diplomacy sessions
- United Nations Sustainable Development Goal challenges
- Art, culture and talent activities
You will see that you do not have to wait until you are an adult to make a difference.
Discover Your Strengths
Perhaps you are a confident speaker, a creative performer or a thoughtful listener. Maybe you are good at solving problems, organising a team or supporting people who need encouragement.
There is no single way to be a leader.
ICPA will help you discover your own strengths and how you can use them to help others.
Celebrate How Far You Have Come
At the end of the Assembly, your journey and achievements will be recognised during a special Graduation, Gala and Awards Ceremony.
However, the greatest rewards will be the confidence, friendships, skills and memories you take home.
