History

Rooted in the rich legacy of the “Banner of Peace” assembly held in Sofia, Bulgaria, our journey continues from the last ‘International Children’s Peace Assembly’ held in 1989, welcoming children from 138 countries and building on the foundation of the Peace Bells Monument.

The Rotary Banner of Peace revives this tradition, and by serving collectively through various Rotary Districts and Rotary Clubs Internationally, work towards raising sponsorship and funding to support children, mainly aged between 10-16years. The aim is to enable children from all walks of life, including those disadvantaged from around the world to attend the life transforming “International Children’s Peace Assembly”, The event aims to promote peace, unity and friendship, and invite young people to get involved in various initiatives and projects relating to peace, education, creativity, environment and leadership.
